Cleaning up vector logo in AI
on Dec 18, 2008 at 2:59:40 am

Hi everyone,

Im working on a logo design, and the letters have strokes and a fill that I created to outlines. As you see in the image below, when I created to outlines, it made the vectors a mess. Im importing this file into Cinema 4D for 3D extrusion, so the logo has to be outlined (minus the extra lines on the inside from strokes. so pretty much I just need the fills and strokes to serve as one "mesh" while staying exactly the same. Any help and/or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

How did you outline yourtype, what command did you use? This looks like you used the command
object >> path >> outline Stroke

I am not sure if the final result you need is the outermost shape, but select the hollow pointer tool, click on what you want to delete and delete this.

If all you need is the outermsot shape, you can select all >> pull down the pathfinder palette >> alt click on the first icon unite.
