photoshop settings for importing into premiere
on Nov 19, 2008 at 11:33:57 pm

Question:
For an Adobe premiere project using 720 x 486 pixel 0.9. If I want to bring in a Tiff from photoshop used for titles what project setting do I need to use in photoshop.
I am using photoshop CS3 extended and premiere pro cs3.
All the titles I have tried to bring in have looked very blocky and it looks like some lines of resolution are smaller in the text.

up to now i have always built graphics for D1 in photoshop using a square pixel 720x540 layout and then let premier scale it to 720x486 non-square. you can also build your pshop graphics at 720x540 square and then save a second version that you non-proportionally change to 720x486 and import that into premier. it adds a second step/version of each picture but works fine.

i've recently seen some info about the new pixel aspect ratio that CS4 uses which is apparently .91 rather than .9, which means a square pixel comp D1 should be 720x534. here's a tutorial that talks about it:
