Drag layers to another file... preserving locations?
on Jul 7, 2008 at 5:00:23 pm

Hi all:

Let's say I have a PAL/DV document with several layers, and I want to copy all of them to another PAL/DV document (same size and resolution), so that they are exactly in the same place in the new document. Can one do that? I tried selecting all the layers in the layer palette and dragging them to the new document, but Photoshop will just leave them wherever they are when I release the mouse button; in other words, you need a steady hand to ensure that they are in the same place in the new document... :-). Is there any "assisted" way to do it?

Thanks in advance.

hold down the shift key when dragging, or use layerr/duplicate layers
