Hi all , thanks for the help. I have some people group shots that were taken about four feet from a light colored wall. I have some very dark shadows cast on the wall I am trying to remove. What do you suggest is the best way , tried painting it out and cloning. Have tried the magic wand to select the area and changing it. Am looking the quickest way. Thanks to all of you in advance

Tom

How big is the shadow area?

Did you try curves, and levels, to remove them?

Use curves for greater color seperation of shadows from the rest of the image and then go from there... it seems to me it would be better to get a clean plate with no people just the background and then just layer that in...

I'm an amateur, but my first thought when color adjusting failed would be the Dodge Tool and then the Blur Tool to smooth it all out. Good luck.
