Black Background where Transparency Should Be
on Aug 31, 2005 at 7:26:34 pm

I have been attempting to cut out background and add an alpha channel to headshots I'm looking to superimpose over a backdrop in Final Cut Pro. The idea being the background I cut out should be transparent.

However, once I've cut out the image, added the alpha channel, and saved the file as a .tif, I end up with a black background where the original background I cut out was. I've tried everything I can think of to remedy this problem, but nothing's prevailed.

Has anyone had this problem before or knows how to remedy it?

Save your file as a PNG with transparency. It works excellently.
