how do I go upon using photoshop with video? my guess it works frame by frame but is there a way to import a frame and then having photoshop do its thing replacing each frame on the video aspect one by one auto or do I have to import each frame over 900 etc to copy and past each one then export it back out into the video?

you can do that with IR

but AE is better suited for that workflow

You can record an Action in Photoshop (list of tasks to be performed) and then use the Automate function to apply that Action to multiple images.

Simple example: You want to apply the Photoshop Cutout filter to a piece of video.
1. Export your video clip from AE or Premiere etc as an image sequence, stored in an appropriately labelled folder.
2. Open the first frame in Photoshop. Create a New Action, give it a name and leave it in Record mode. Apply the Cutout filter, save the pic and close it. Stop the Action recorder.
3. Use File/Automate/Batch to apply the new Action to the folder with all the images in it.
4. Reimport the image sequence to your NLE or AE for playback.

Omar, there's no need to guess.

If you want to understand PT & video - read/buy:
1. "Photoshop CS for Nonlinear Editors"

If you want to understand PT - read/buy:
1. "Real World Adobe Photoshop CS"

Thank you for the vote of confidence...

I hate saying it... but at 37% on Amazon... it's teh best $34.62 I think a video pro can spend....

And by the way... I make about $1 per book.... I didn't write it for the money.

I would like to add that it's the best $35 an editor can spend and I don't get a DIME from it! Great book, Richard. Mine has been used so much the spine is broken. p.s. I use Vegas with PS.
