If anyone has this combo in their workflow, please jump in with your experience.
I have a 20-day shoot using Helium 6K WS and wanted to use RCX build 50 to export to Avid AAF then ingest into Avid MC 8.9.3 (tested on PC/Mac).
I have tried numerous variations of RCX and Avid to date and still, this workflow will not take in Avid.
The AAF imports fine but the MXF just won't load correctly.
Yes, I have moved the MXF into the Avid blessed folders.
And yes I have tested this with MX footage (Scarlet/RED ONE) and that works.
If anyone has this combo working please chime in.
Okay, I got fed up and did another and forgot to mention that I've been trying import the ALE file.
Not realizing to import the actual AAF.
Now, of course, the ALE used to work in the past.
I guess with the latest MC, it doesn't?
Really need someone to tell me I'm wrong.
I honestly don't mind being wrong.
Learn a lot more that way.
I realize that this is late -- but for future users:
For organization purposes, create a new media folder for each project/shoot/whatever. For instance, I start at folder 100. Drop in your MXF files.
For versions of MC pre-2018: drag the AAF files into a bin to create the clips. Then select all and drag the ALE into the same bin. It should create subclips with all the metadata. Then relink those subclips to the media.
For MC 2018 it looks like you simply just drop the ALE into the bin and it creates the clips with metadata. Doesn't appear to need the AAF files anymore. Then relink those subclips to the media.
