RED 3D and RED Cine

Hi guys,
I'm fairly new to using RED, so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question...

We'll be working with RED 3D and RED Cine through FCP 7 (Avid would have been my choice but still)... Anyway, my job will be to process the media and edit, plus stabilize the aerial shots.

The team has asked that I give them a list of programmes that I will need to do this... I've so far said:

REDcine X
FCP studio
After effects for the stabilising
Shotput Pro

Is there anything else that you think I will need in order to make the workflow and my life easier?

Also, can you stabilize RED media in REDCine X?

Hey Sarah,

I think this list covers what you will need. After Effects will be the best way to stabilize, to my knowledge you cannot stabilize in RCX.

RCX has no stabilization built in.

One thing you might consider with clips that need to be stabilized is exporting those clips larger than you finishing format.

For example if you are finishing 1920x1080 then you might want to initially output those clips at 4k to give yourself a bit more stabilization wiggle room in after effects.
