REDCINE-X Frame Error messages @ 4k but fine @1920x1080. Solutions??
on Nov 28, 2013 at 12:42:44 am

Hi all,

I have been given 4K footage filmed off a Red Scarlet. For the purpose I want to show off the full 4K quality, but when I transcode some clips in Redcine-X Pro 20, at 4096x2160, full debayer, QT Apple Prores 422(HQ) for FCP7, the ‘Error processing image for frame X, Y, Z’ message appears.

However, when I go through at 1920x1080, altering no other settings, the clips are fine. So if it’s not corrupt R3D files, and the file structures are all intact, what could the problem then be? Are high frames confusing the system or am I missing a tick box somewhere?

Alternatively, If I can transcode all my footage in another resolution, edit, and some how code it back into the original 4k and Grade, that would be great as well, but i've never had to do that so what is an ideal workflow for that process?

Thank you for your time. I know you must get a lot of repeat questions.
