Red footage won't transcode, any ideas?
on May 8, 2013 at 5:54:33 pm

Hello all,

I have some footage shot on red from a few years back. I am trying to transcode it using redline-x. I am getting errors with a select few clips, the Details read:
Decode errors detected in export. Frames: 0, 1, 2, 3,
etc. etc.

When I look to the F, H, M and P proxy files they don't seem to play either.

I am running Redcini - X build 506 on OSX 10.7.4 (which I have to run for other reasons).

Any suggestions? Thank you.

Please update to Redcine-X Pro (17.4 is the latest build). Build 506, according to the reduser forums, seems to dig up the same issues.

You can install multiple versions of Redcine side-by-side and it supports OSX 10.6.8 or newer.

Beyond that, see how far you get exporting to a frame sequence like DPX where at least you can salvage most of the video clip.
