What is the proper way to do this?
We shot a green screen music video on the RED Scarlet.
We transcoded to ProRes Proxies with REDcine.
Then used Multiclip with these proxies in FCP 7 and did the edit.
Now we have green screen footage that needs keying.
So I collapse the multiclip and export an XML (but it doesnt import as a proper collapse in REDcine).
For now, in FCP 7 I "collapse" the sequence then use Media Manager and use Existing Media and do not include non active multiclip angles. I then export an XML. Import XML into REDcine, it seems to work. Then I transcode the entire timeline to a single DPX sequence. In After Effects CS6 I import the XML and it has the cuts but it is all linked to the proxies. I import the DPX sequence, then cut the image sequence to same cuts as the XML so it all lines up. This is my work around for now.
Is there a better way?
Is there at least a way to transcode the DPX clips and import with XML in After Effects already cut to the edit?
