I have been shooting RED footage and trying to import it into FCP7. While the RED footage looks great in the REDCINE-X pro 13, when I try to import it into FCP7 using the plugin, it comes across either much darker or with exaggerated tint. I was told that perhaps FCP7 is importing the proxies used to tinker with the finished look, rather than the raw footage itself. If this is the case, how can I get around this? Should I export quicktimes from Redcine? Excuse my extreme lack of knowledge when it comes to RED as I am quite new to it.
Not sure re the colour but I'd recommend exporting pro res from red cine x. I always like to create offline media and go from there, depending on your project of course. Try an end to end test with your rendered pro res and see if you can get an edl or xml into red cine x linking up to the raw red.
