I`ve been currently learning the RED workflow and have been rendering out ProRes HQ files from some sample R3D`s I`ve graded. I have turned gamma correction off, but I am still running into gamma shift in the exported files in comparison to my RedCineX Pro viewer.
Viewing the encoded files in VLC media player and Quicktime P7 is the best representation I have seen, when it comes to matching the grades. Viewing in Quicktime X, the footage is completely off.
I am using a calibrated monitor, but the thing that stumps me the most is that I have even tried rendering out a 10 bit Uncompressed file from RCX-P and that even has a slight gamma shift.
I`m running out of ideas here, I`ve been on all of the reduser threads concerning this and have not come up with any workable solution.
Any insight/advice on this issue would be much appreciated.
