realtime 1080p to 1080i from scarlet to DVCPRO HD

Hello,

Kind of an odd situation here. We are shooting on the Scarlet but have to deliver onto dvcpro HD tape at 1080i. We are trying to find a workflow that can make this conversion realtime and dub straight to tape on the HD1400 deck. So we are shooting on the scarelt, HD SDI out to the DVCPRO HD 1400 deck. Anybody have ideas? I find it strange that red can't shoot interlaced.

thanks for any help,
dan

This is tricky as SCARLET and EPIC do not support any type of interlaced signal. However I would thing about shooting 59.97 and then going interlaced..I need to look into this more.

I think Jay is right, shoot 59.94, then the deck should have an easier time interlacing it, if it will accept the progressive signal. I dont' have a DVCPROHD deck to test it on, so this is only conjecture.

Its more fun to ride a slow motorcycle fast than a fast motorcycle slow...
