This is a compositing example that pusses the camera to the extreme; a dark night, and only the fire from the performer's tools for lighting. You can see the original source on the right and the X track on the left, the composite in the center was made in AfterEffects but could easily be done in SCRATCH or similar.

Most the the Epic Tests are in bad lighting situations to show that more data can be pulled out. This shows a very different approach because the exposures are so far apart and you are mixing 1 image that has been clipped with another that has been crushed to get the extreme highlights. The problem with blending is your mixing black with white which produces gray, this technique does have accurate blending, but because of the time difference between the A and X frame there is a white border around it. After all it was just a test.
