RED Scarlet, Davinci, After Effects, and FCP/Premiere workflows

What is the best workflow for RED footage to Editorial to Effects to Davinci?
Is it worth to switch from FCP to Premiere to be able to edit R3D and skip transcodes?
And also be able to go straight from Premiere to After Effects back to Premiere with out rendering?
Are there any downsides to using Premiere over FCP?

Premiere Pro 5.5 all the way bud. Note that any version before CS5.5 will not be able to natively handle Scarlet or Epic r3ds.

Brandon,

Not only will CS5.5 "handle" the footage, it has it's OWN controls similar to Red Cine X for managing the meta data! You can change color, ISO, temperature, saturation, etc. right inside of Premiere! It's fantastic and very simple to use!

If you're like me and have a Red Rocket card... you can use that in Premiere too... or several, if you're lucky enough to have more than one!

I have CS5.5 but After Effects want take native Scarlet R3D footage.
I haven't tried Premiere yet. Is there a way to use R3D with After Effects CS5.5?
I have use Red One R3D with AE.

If I have to convert for compositing Scarlet footage, what is best?
ProRes 4444, DPX, TIFF, SGI, or Animation?
