Post editing software and equipment setup suggestions
on Nov 12, 2011 at 11:37:19 pm

Hi, I am coming from a simple setup of a MacBook pro, final cut studio, and FireWire external drives for editing footage. I may have an opportunity in the future to edit footage shot mostly with Red. Some of it will be in 3d, and some will be shot with other cameras.

I am trying to learn more about Editing Red and 3d and would really appreciate suggestions on an affordable and reliable setup of hardware and software for editing. Mobility or even a hybrid option would be nice. And the simplest workflow would be best.

Thank you in advanced for sharing your knowledge with me!

you might want to think about moving to AVID MC6. get up to speed on a more capable platform for dealing with 3d and native editing of red.

Thank you for your reply! It looks like Avid MC6 will be available soon (tomorrow?). Do you have any suggestions on hardware setup? I am also searching for a good mobile setup but it seems like laptops won't be fast enough!
