Cutting in FCP need to deliver 4K files to After Effects

I'm cutting a :30 second spot shot on RED & all green screen. I assume I will Log & Transfer to a standard ProRes codec and cut the spot in the 2K format. Once the cut is approved I need to deliver a 4K version to my AE guy who will be doing extensive compositing. How best to make this happen? Do I need to use Cinema Tools?

I would:

Relink to the R3D's after the cut is locked using the Clipfinder workflow.

- Export the sequence to Apple Color.
- Set Apple color to output DPX files with one second handles
- Set the RED TAB to RED COLOR 2, RED GAMMA 2

By doing this each shot will be a DPX sequence in it's own FOLDER. Your AE GUY can bring in whatever shot he wants as a DPX file, do his thing and sent it back to you however you want it.

If you use log and transfer, then Automatic Duck your sequence to AE, the files will reconnect to the r3d if you have that option checked in prefs.

I am working on a very nicely shot RED short film that has 45% of green screen shots for compositing and video FX. To get the most quality and the cleanest key for the green screens we are delivering 16bit TIFF sequences that can be rendered to a wide variety of formats for the final online and finishing. Then we will deliver 2K 4444 files, HDCam, Blu-Ray and (possibly) HDCam SR masters to the client.

Confused about this part.
- Set the RED TAB to RED COLOR 2, RED GAMMA 2

Where is that set?

If you are looking at r3d files in APPLE COLOR then there is a RED TAB that allows you to set ISO, COLOR SPACE and GAMMA and other RED metadata settings.
