Hi, I'd live to hear comments on this subject. I have a passion and desire to learn cinematography and doing commercial video solutions. If I can afford a RED Epic, doesn't it make reasonable sense to "cut teeth" with some of the best options available? I see myself owning a RED camera sometime in my life anyways, so I'm just thinking to skip the intermediate gear and go with what you really want to shoot with. Thanks.
Heh- is there a question in there? I'd suggest not buying an EPIC as your first camera as you'll be going into massive debt. Well unless you happen to have disposable income, in which case go for it. I'd instead suggest getting a Canon 7D or 5D and learning photography and cinematography. It will cost you a fraction of the price and you'll learn all the tricks you need. And then if you're good and still into it you can step up.
