Reconforming Red project and sending self-contained project to colorist
on Jul 4, 2011 at 1:22:57 pm

I recently finished editing a feature-length project shot with Red One. I edited the 2K files using ProRes 422 in FCP 7. I am looking to deliver the full 4K files using either ProRes 4444 files or raw Red files to our colorist (who works in Color) on his drive.

Is there a way for me to get only the specific HQ files I used in the edit onto his drive so that I don't have to deliver nearly 3 TBs of footage? Is this something I will have to do manually?

Thanks for any insight.
Mike

That's what Consolidate is for.

Oops, thought I was on a Scratch forum for a moment.

In Final Cut, you use the Media Manager to do what you're asking.

you can't media manage r3d in fcp.
best bet is to deliver the whole 3TB & fcp project to colorist so he can stay in the "red workflow white paper" - a straightforward procedure if you used log & transfer to get the r3d into fcp. if you used something else to make your 2k prores, then the colorist will need the 3TB anyway to reconform using clipfinder etc.
