RED tinting proxies

Hey guys,

Anyone here ever have issues with your files getting a magenta tint? Sometimes our RED adjusts the white balance to like 9000+ and tints the clip toward magenta to compensate (only to some files). That means all the white parts of the clip look magenta. We've used 3 RED cameras (all with the MX sensor) and all 3 do it -- only to SOME files.

You can fix this by opening each R3D file in Redcine and resetting the values (tint and white balance) but it's an annoying extra step.

Both of our RED DITs say it happens occasionally but neither know why. Anyone know why this happens and what we may be doing wrong?

Thanks!

I have seen this...

It usually helps to re-blackshade, for an unknown reason...

Cheers

This has happened to us on a couple of occasions. Thanks for the tip! It is rather frustrating.
