Hi,

I wonder if someone could tell me if I should know anything special about working with Red One Camera files on FCP, or should I assume that as long as they are QT mov files is ok. Thanks

FCP only supports frame sizes up to 2K, so you can either use the camera generated proxies, or more often, transcode the full-resolution 4K R3Ds to ProRes for editing, and then keep the originals if you need to online later. Many times though, people just output from ProRes to tape or to a deliverable like H.264.

and get RedCine-X if you need to start transcoding R3D files, and install the Final Cut Studio Installer if you want to open R3D in FCP, Color, or Quicktime.
