The company I work for wants to purchase a Red One camera. It looks like the Epic will be out soon? Or is that not the case? Anyone have an idea of the cost difference on the camera bodies?

'Normal' people won't be able to get an Epic until next summer at the earliest... Red One MX has the same sensor.

Red One: $17,500 plus $500 for the CF module. Then $5,750 for the MX = $23,750 Available today!

Epic: $28,000 plus storage ($2-3k) plus any module you would want (pro i/o is a must!) $3-4k= $33,000-$35,000 Available ???.

Of course, you could just rent an MX Red One from utahcamerarentals.com or the likes for cheap until you can buy an Epic...

Not if you buy new. Brent @ RED said this:

[QUOTE=Brent@RED;665522]We had RED ONE's will M-X sensors already manufactured before this pause and have a limited number remaining for purchase until we can make more.

If you need the camera now, buy a RED ONE MX

If you need the camera next year wait for EPIC.

Are they ?
"Jeremy - not Jim or Jarred...but I can say we are doing all we can still on this front. We MAY be able to restart the M-X upgrades a little sooner than expected - but until we have concrete information, we are sticking with what Jarred has already posted as a timeline (ie, "end of November")."

There's a long thread under "Recon".
