I am in the early stages of a RED project using final cut 7 for the edit. I transcoded the R3D files to prores 4444 thinking that would save time not having to reconform… Just found out a producer wants to reconform to the R3D files for color correction.
First Question: In the interest of time, is it possible to reconform Prores 4444? Or do I need to re-ingest the RED media and transcode to a different prores codec?
Next potential problem…
I also renamed the reel names for RED code using the Reel field of the Log and Transfer.
Second Question: Is this going to jeopardize my ability to reconform the current transcoded files?
