If RED is so great, why aren't we hearing the wonderful things these new owners are doing with it and how fantastic the work-flow is??? Are these newbies so overwhelmed or stunned by the ---backward approach to getting a project finished?
I get it, the F1 season is over for the year, better book the wind tunnel!
I like the ext shots under the highway/bridge, you get a better sense of what this thing can do and of the optics. The band stuff has such major lens flair from the back lights I think it does not match the ext day stuff.
This isn't my work. I simpy posted a link that contains a finished music video that reveals the cameras capabilites. This was asked by someone above that hasn't seen a final production. I'm sure the person that worked the production would answer your questions.
There are several very effective workflows with RED. It's much more efficient than P2 and well, the cost is just going to nlow p2 out of the water.
There might be many nay sayers but I can tell you that this company and camera will turn some heads.
I am still in initial testing, but based on what I have seen this is a well thought out system. They really have created a tape less camera system that rivals film but is scalable enough for most systems.
Best of all you will like it because it requires people to not be cheap!
The work flow is there, I was able to put together a 2min presentation the night we finished shooting. I have not had a chance to post it yet as you know we have been going thru some tough times here.
The Camera is amazing to say the least and yes it does have its quirks the slow boot kinda sucks and I also see it not replacing our Varicam as it is a tool that works well in the feature arena and high end commercials but I dont see running around Disney with it.
