DPX linear from RED footage in AE
on Apr 23, 2010 at 6:06:52 pm

Hello.

I am exporting some DPX files from raw footage imported in AE through Redcode.

The lab where i am printing that stuff asked me for this specs:

* DPX, linear

* Colour space raw linear.

* Gamma curve 2.2

* frame 2048x1152

So what should be the exact export settings in AE for this specs.
I worked on a 32bit project with linear light off, redspace for gamma
and for color.

And also,

I opened my footage in REDCine, I have colorspace and gamma space
set on REDSpace. Kelvin like 4 and something and tint -13.7.
In the image window I have two buttons: M-D.
I suppose D stands for default, that is the original RAW, which gives me colorspace: REDcolor and gamma:REDgamma, Kelvin 5600 and tint 0.

Importing in AE I know that it doesn't recognize the metadata. But when setting the interpret footage to default it gives me tint 0 and kelvin 6500. If I set it to 5600 I see that images from Red Cine and AE are different.

Now.
How am I supposed to work to go to DPX?
Setting the values as the M settings or as the D setting?
What about the difference in colors between the 2 images?

Please, any opionion would be appreciated.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thx.

Paolo
