Using MX clips in Color

Hi All

I've got a FCP edit coming up that is going to be shot on MX camera. I understand the color science has been changed, will Color have any issues dealing with the R3D files generated?

Thanks
Dan

I haven't tried it, but it will likely have issues. Other programs have all had updates for MX footage. You don't know until you try though.

What was the answer? (This is me being lazy instead of trying to tackle a search in REDUSER.)

I don't think Color supports MX yet.

Absolutely wrong.

http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=43820

main contents:

If you use the new Color framework, which is in a thread by RED's Rob Lohman here on reduser, then you can handle any M-X footage.

I believe there is also limited support for 4.5 K in COlor as well.

David

Release notes:

Added support for the new Mysterium-X sensor

Added support for the new FLUTâ„¢ color science. This plugin will only do the new color science. If you need to use old color science with an existing project you should not upgrade to this version of the plugin or restore an older version when you switch back to an old project.

Added support for the new REDgamma gamma space and REDcolor color space

Added support for 4.5K footage. Clips recorded at 4.5K (4480 x 1920) will load as if they were shot with a resolution of 2240 x 960 due to Apple Color being limited to 4K maximum resolution. Half resolution decodes for 4.5K footage will not go through any debayer.

ISO list does not go beyond ISO 2000. Any clips shot at a higher ISO will be clamped to ISO 2000

Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) is no longer supported with this release

Peace

No problem.

I know it can be difficult to stay on top of what is going on. (because so much is going on)
