When I need to zoom in Final Cut Pro, because I got a wide shot that should have been a medium or close up, I lose quality. I was told that the beauty of the RED ONE was (one of them) that I could make these zoomed shot just as good as the others because it was shot in 4K (or 2K). How can I achieve this? My zoomed clips are out of focus and poor quality. Also, when my project is 100% finished, should I render or how do I render it to a 2k project? Right now my frame size is set to pretty small. I don't have a powerful processor, so I have to render and work with a low res in ProRes 422.

If you want to scale the files, I would probably suggest either rendering out a 3k or 4k prores file from a program like REDRushes, REDAlert, REDCINE, or Clipfinder. Or you could use REDCINE to push in the framing to where you want it and render out a prores file from there.
