we are editing a pics shot on the latest built red camera at 24fps 4.5k wide screen transcoding to pro res 1920 x1080 and when we are trying to playback on fina lcut using the external device on the view menu set to all frames, to view full screen the clips playback with jadder or a sort of freeze effect
has anybody done any editing on the red shot at 24 and had any problems of this sort?

How did you transcode?

Is your drive fast enough?

What kind of display are you watching with?

How did you transcode?
We transcoded using Clipfinder to ProRes (SQ) 1920 x 1080 resolution

Is your drive fast enough?
Using a RAID, which should be well fast enough

What kind of display are you watching with?
Imac display (think the Imac is the problem here, as we've since got playback using an older Mac G5 system, which now works fine

I doubt the iMac can display 24 fps (or a multitude of that).

You may be able to playback the files using a iMac if you upgrade the RAM and if the iMac also has an Intel processor.
