Red Rushes Crashing on Newer Mac Pro's ?
on Dec 15, 2009 at 12:39:42 am

Hello,

Systems:
newer Mac Pro's Running 10.5.8 fully updated apps.
lots of RAM and dual 8 core

I have installed the latest version of Red Rushes as well as all the recommended FCP / RED / QT stuff from the RED user site and on all but one of 4 Newer Mac Pro's (6 months old or less) Red Rushes just will NOT work.

The application crashes on all 3 computers and I cannot figure out why this is happening - the only computer it is not happening on is my 1 year old Mac Pro which is running the previous build of red Rushes.

I tried installing the previous versions of all these apps on the other 3 Mac Pro's but the crashing keeps occurring.

any ideas?

-thanks
Sean

What are you transcoding to?

RR was crashing on me too until I updated the driver for the Sata card

I am transcoding to ProRes HQ 1920x1080 and having RR look at RSX files for the one light created on set.

I mean what are you physically transcoding to, as in drives...like I said, when RR crashed on me it was a case of the Sata card driver not being up-to-date with the latest iteration of the OS...

I know that Red Rushes has issues sending files larger than 2GB over networks, have you tried just doing a test and processing out the footage a local drive?

Colin
