Yeah, Digital Production BuZZ just gave me the new news of the Scarlet...or should I say, Scarlets.
I am in no way interested in working with the massive 4-5K R3D files, nor the desire to totally upgrade my editing sweet. Simply overkill for my small time work. Grant it, R3D files can be manipulated without harming the footage...but for me, no.
But I do love it...and I hope I can use gear like this in the future. But for now, I'll gladly settle with a HD-DSLR. They make me happy too :)
WHile the Scarlets are smaller & you can put 3 or 4 on a shoot more cost effectively, I would still go for the 4k or 5k models. I am just partial to more High def. I don't know where it will end-maybe 10k??? I think for a Doc, the Scarlets are great. But for major motion pictures-5k. :) CJ
