Shooting music video on RED

Hello,

Wondering which frame rate I should shoot in 24p or 23.98 to sync playback with audio file? Is there a standard way to shoot a music video using playback and syncing the source file later?

Thanks

JB

23.98 is usually the way to go. But it goes without saying that a timecode slate and a sound operator who knows their stuff are critical.

Don't even consider 24 for this job.

23.98 all the way. There is no compelling reason to shoot 24.

Only used true 24 if you know for a fact that you are doing a film out or a DCP as your final medium. Otherwise, 23.98 is god.

Stuart,

What is teh major disadvantage of shooting 23.98 for a filmout. I have done several and I see no reason to shoot 24 at all.
