The focus markings were anywher3e from a foot to 2 feet off in terms of the difference betweeern the eye focus and the taped focus.

The back focus on your camera is most likely out. I just got my RPP set, and they are spot on.

The set that I know of locally here has no issues either.

Well, as I mentioned in the previous post, we had the same situation with both cameras we were shooting with, but as the RED PL mount is adjustable and not set by shims, like a film camera mount, it could certainly have been a back focus issue. I shoot a good bit with the 24-290 Optimo zoom and have not had any back focus issues there, but we were all on primes for this shoot (all night shooting at T2.0 or T1.8). We did a couple of hostess tray in-car shots with an 18mm Zeiss superspeed at T1.4 and did use a taped focus and it was tack sharp. But as I mentioned, I do think the RED primes are the bomb.

You could be right but we were shooting with 2 cameras and had the same situation on both. Don't get mewrong...I love the lenses. At T1.8, they are plenty fast enough and as I mentioned...razor sharp.

Check back focus- ours are completely spot on once everything is checked.

No, the markings were in feet.
