Not sure if anyone has experienced this. I import a RED .R3D file into After Effects CS4. The image is beautiful being sent out of my Kona3 card. The image on the viewer looks washed out and bad. When I export a quicktime out the image still looks washed out and bad. Any tips?

I suspect your Kona card is doing some specific color correction- i.e. converting the output into REC 709 color space for HD display. I'd trust more what you see in your exports from Premiere.

not just the card it is the monitor that is modifying the image's colorspace more than the card is.

hey greg!

i´m using the german version, but i try to translate:

on your file in the project window go to "footage settings" (alt+option+g), switch to the "color management" tab and check the "maintain RGB" box.

hope that helps,
greeting,
michael.

Are you in 32bit float for your project settings?
