Updating QT Reference when LUT changed in REDALERT?
on May 1, 2009 at 4:27:39 pm

For some reason the RED files I shot defaulted to REC709 instead of REDSPACE, so the Quicktime reference files play in REC709. If I delete the reference files, change the LUT in RED ALERT and then generate new reference files, they still display in REC709.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or have a solution?

Thanks.

FCP L&T doesn't recognize some parameters from REDAlert or Metadata (see whitepaper), but Color will give you all the options in the RED room.

Have you tried using REDRushes to make the new QT ref files?

open the r3d file in RED ALERT

make adjustments to the clip.

Select make quicktimes from the FILE MENU

The new QT files should now display the color space you have asked for.
