Purchase lag-time....

Considering a purchase....

For all that have purchased...what has the average wait time for a RED been? (Deposit to fulfillment?)

My question stems from an article I just read about RED in one of the TV magazines.

The article stated "...over 3000 deposits have been made for the RED...while only 15% have been delivered thus far...."
Its May...my understanding is that the "first" of you received them back in September 07.(Which based on these unoffical numbers and my speculative "facts"...would work out to roughly 65 shipped per month.)

So demographically speaking... who of "you" have received your units?
Did rental houses and high-profile producers receive them first (as one might suspect...)?
Or is it first-come-first-served?

Just wondering what the reality of receiving one in under a few months is?

Thanks,
-C

Both of these numbers are wrong. The reservations are well beyond 3,000 by now, and we got ours (serial # 1462) about a month ago. We made our deposit in February 07. It's strictly first come, first serve, I know quite a few of the other owners in Germany, among them one rental house, who has 10 of them. They didn't get any special treatment.

If you make your reservation today, you can expect something well below one year, the production got ramped up during the first months of 08.

If you email the sales dept, they'll give you an estimate of delivery time... I think it's likely into Oct/Nov timeframe if you ordered now.
