on Mar 1, 2016 at 9:06:45 pm

Hello!

All my filter packages are saved.
The video fx presets are not saved. Did I expected to much? Please help.

With thanks,
Ellen

Fx chains "stored" in plugin manager are saved by Preset Manager.

What I also want to save are custom presets found in video fx tab. For example, I make a custom cookie cutter and save it. Then it shows among those default presets. When I backup all presets with Preset Manager, it appears it saves only fx chains found in plugin manager, not those custom presets of individual fx. After reinstalling my system, I use Preset Manager to copy to system what it saved earlier. And those custom video fx presets won't show up.

With thanks,
Ellen

[Ellen Maurer] "And those custom video fx presets won't show up."
Got it. Tell me just WHERE are you looking for the saved Plugin Preset?

I didn't think to find them. I thought Preset Manager can find them. I mean why do I have to find them if I have Preset Manager. Or it can't do this?

With thanks,
Ellen

[Ellen Maurer] "I didn't think to find them. I thought Preset Manager can find them."
Not the ones we are talking about.

I started a similar discussion back in 2004 on the Official Sony Vegas Site, and what I know is that if you save one your separate FX Plugs WITH saved Presets for each of those FX Plugins, you can save this chained Plugin Set as a Plugin Preset, and it is these Plugin Chains which can be "found" by Preset Manager.

So,
i) Preset Manger finds and organizes previously saved Plugin Chains (Chains of Plugins) which can have several applied FX presets.

ii) Plugins can have a multitude of FX Plugin Presets.
BTW, you didn't say if your were able to locate your FX Plugin Presets?

Ellen Maurer

Suggest you give a Vegasaur a try. It has a Preset Manager which will do exactly what you want (plus a lot of other very useful things). I believe they still a 30 day trial.

Yes, I have located FX Plugin Presets.
So, if I put those individual saved presets in a chain and save it in Plug-in Manager , then it can be seen and saved by PM. I wonder how it will work after a system reset. Will PM put those presets in that chain in their respective places? Or do I have to save each one of them again to see them there, in Video fx tab?

With thanks, Ellen
