Rendering cannon 5dm2 video footage
on Oct 6, 2015 at 6:34:17 pm

Hi,

I am rendering a very lengthy film. It was shot using 2 canon 5dm2's in 1920x1080 25fps progressive. I have set the vegas project to match footage files, and i am doing a test render, the film will be delivered on Blurry.

My question is about workflow and render setting. I am testing with a render setting the matches the project settings (shown with the =). the clip i am rendering has no effects added, but yet the rendering is taking 7 times the length of the clip, its progressing almost frame by frame in the view window - i thought it would render quickly on the basis I'm rendering with a profile that matches the project and the project matches the footage?

Where am i going wrong?

Regards
Martin

What are you system specs, like cpu, gpu, ram. Do you have gpu enabled in your render profile, under preferences.

You could try some tests where you render a one minute clip to xdcam, or hdcam-sr-lite. Then try you render and compare times.
