fps with the vegas pro 13 test version
on Sep 24, 2015 at 8:36:10 pm

hi
i downloaded vegas pro 13 testversion.
i included a video (.mp4) with 30 fps. this video looks smooth in vlp player.
i ad some pictures (.png) with vegas and these pictures move through the video.
my preview is lagging.
the renderd video laggs too. only the added pictures are smooth
is it because i am only using a test version?

No one know anything about your system configuration, or info on your source material, or your project settings. Could be a lot of reasons for poor playback.

You need to give us more info Tom, and that lag could be caused
by the render settings you choose!

i try to give u as much information as possible, if i miss something please tell me where to find these informations.
The video file i am using is .mp4, 640 x 352p, 1589 kBit/s, 30 fps, 8 mb,, 42sec.
my laptop: win 8.1, 8 gb ram, 64 bit, i7 @ 2,2 ghz, AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series.
Vegas Settings: GPU-Acceleration - off,
i tried many render options. always no high resolution. for example
MainConcept AVC/AAC (mp4) Apple i#POd 640v480, or windows media video 512 kbit/s...

hope this helps...

Your system is just shy of being able to use the GPU, so keep that off, and do not set GPU in your render templates.

Your project settings should be:

Size/resolution: 640x352
Pixel ratio: 1.0 square
Field order: progressive
Pixel Format: 8-bit

Frame Rate: 29.97 or 30fps depending how your source was recorded. "MediaInfo" application can help to determine this exactly.

For rendering try Sony AVC, and create custom internet profile that matches your source file format. For bit rate choose about 2-5mbs.

Scaling your video to some large format like 4k or 1080p may cause playback issues in BEST/FULL mode. Making sure your project settings match your source media, and try playback with Preview, or Good mode in the preview quality selector.

Trial mode on Vegas should not hold you back. Jerky playback with your project matching your source, there may be something else limiting playback with your system.

thank you for your answer.
i followed your advice but came to the same result.
with the same settings i renderd an other video and this worked.
so i formatted my previous video with an other programm and then renderd with vegas.
that worked finnaly.

Thanks for support.
