Sony Vegas Noise/Pixilation Blur Issue
on Aug 6, 2015 at 6:17:02 pm

So I am working on posting a youtube tutorial for a game called minecraft. I am trying to pinpoint the issue, so bear with me as I explain my problem. The clip I recorded, using Bandicam @ 60fps came out fine. However when I tried to put it into sony vegas, it wouldnt let me. I solved this issue by getting the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec. Once I was able to get the video clip into sony vegas, the preview had some weird pixelation blur, only when the screen showed minecraft, and not my computers desktop. I thought this was going to go away, however the rendering came out the same way and I cannot for the life of me figure the issue out.

Here are a few images showing the issue my video preview and renderings are having:

also as a note, this only happens when I move my character in minecraft.

Thanks ahead of time for anyone who can solve the issue

Dan

I looks like Vegas doesn't like the Bandicam files. I would convert your Bandicam footage to Motion-JPEG (MJPEG) with PCM audio or to CineForm. These codecs will edit much easier and not leave artifacts like you are seeing.

You can use a free utility like AviDemux 2.5 to convert the footage (do not use 2.6 use 2.5):

You may be able to convert to CineForm using the free GoPro Studio.

[John] You said, (do not use 2.6 use 2.5)

Just curious. What's wrong with 2.6?

Once upon a time 2.6 was new, and less stable, and the internal structure of Avidemux was changed from 2.5 to 2.6. The last 2.5.6 version was 2011.

[Wayne Waag] "Just curious. What's wrong with 2.6?"
The last time I checked, the M-JPEG files created by 2.6.8 can't be read by Windows or Vegas Pro. As far as I can tell, M-JPEG support is just totally broken in 2.6. That's why I still use and recommend 2.5.

You should be able to do this within Bandicam.

Just tried 2.6.10 in MJPEG. VLC plays it, but with an error of some sort. Vegas does not like it.

Yup, that's what I'm talking about. And Windows Media Player won't play it either. So I avoid 2.6 for Motion-JPEG. It's just totally broken. Stick with 2.5.
