Nested Project Question
on Jul 1, 2015 at 1:26:22 am

I just read this in the Vegas Help regarding nesting projects:

The audio from a nested project will require that a proxy file be built. To avoid building proxy files, delete audio from nested projects and use the master project to create your audio.

Is that for ALL audio?

If I've got a project with dialog that I want to nest within the master project, do I need to delete the dialog audio from the nested project and then place it within an audio track of the master project?

Not if you don't want to. They were just explaining that if you don't want audio proxies to be built then remove the audio from your nested project. I have no problem with the audio proxies.

There is nothing that you need to do different unless you are working in 5.1 Surround because the proxies are always Stereo regardless of the nested projects audio attributes. if you need 5.1 Surround, then you MUST move your audio to the master project otherwise you can leave it in the nested project.
