Any Vegas Plugins Similar To Microsoft's Hyperlapse?
on May 17, 2015 at 10:43:02 pm

Microsoft just released the beta of their Hyperlapse software for Windows. Unfortunately the beta has a watermark and the full program is not yet for sale or available. If you have not seen it, it is really impressive:

Anyone know of any current Vegas Plugins or programs similar to this? I called Microsoft and they said it might be about 2 months before the full version is released. I sure hope so!

That is impressive, but unfortunately no plugins exists for
Vegas that can do this.

Hyperlapse has also been applied to Google Streetview Maps.

Apparently, the code is open source.

Have tried importing an image sequence of stills, applying media level stabilization. Most dslrs are capable of shooting larger images than HD video. Use the extra image size to work the stabilization. Hyperlapse is just time lapse with motion stabilization, nothing that new.

If it is not new, please point us to existing products that can do this. For my money, I have not seen a product at a reasonable pricing level that can do this. I can envision a very expensive, commercial product that can do this sort of thing. Is there an Apple product that can do this? The result certainly looks very impressive to me, and the possibilities for using it seem to multiply as I think about it.

"nothing that new"
Sorry, you are incorrect on that part. One cant just create a basic timelapse video with motion stabilization and achieve that effect, it
involves a far more complex algorithm process than that!

Agreed. This software creates a 3D model of the background as part of the stabilization process. I ran a 45 minute 1080P 60fps video through the beta software and set it to output at 30fps. My 6 core 4930K, overclocked to 4.6GHz, took nearly 8 hours at 100% load to process the hyperlapse. The software is legit. I hope it is released at a reasonable price.

- 2013

Baraka 1992

The Doors movie 1991

Timelapse with camera movement or Hyperlapse is not a new thing. An app for your cell phone that aligns pixels in the same fashion that overlapping images are combined into a wide image is not that revolutionary, just evolutionary. The fact that a cell phone can now do this is new.
