VP12 Pro Win 7, using qlab on macbook pro for projections.
Long-time user of Vegas and qlab, but never in HD - always SD up to now, but now have need to project 1280 and 1920 resolution videos.
I am interested to know if there are any users with experience in rendering HD for qlab (v2) output. The advice on this forum seems to suggest staying away from QuickTime, but since i am outputting for apple this seems to be the preferred format.
qlab seems to recommend photojpeg and h.264. I have always found that the photojpeg renders never play smoothly, and sometimes stutter a bit, but are very clear. the h.264 plays, but is not a clear - even though I use the same bit-rates.
I wanted to ask and see if there were any other VP users rendering for qlab in HD, and if so, what format works best.

You didn't tell us what render templates you have tried. I would render using the MainConcept AVC encoder with the Internet 1080p template. That should give you very high quality in an MP4 file that is compatible with your Mac.
I just downloaded QLab to my Mac Pro and dropped an MP4 file that I rendered out of Vegas Pro 12.0 using Internet 1080p template and it played fine. This should give you what you need.
