Newbie getting poor quality rendering on Movie Studio 12.

Hi everyone. I recently purchased a copy of Sony Movie Studio 12 Platinum.

I only require this programme to edit very short individual clips of around 1 to 2 minutes. The files I am trying to edit and render are in .mov format.

When I drag a clip into movie maker it shows me that the video is 1920x1080x24, 29.970fps, Alpha = none, Field Order = Unknown, h264.

Just below the preview box it states, Project: 1920x1080x32, 29.970i & preview 480x270x32, 29.970p

I have tried to render the move in a few formats, but each time the result is extremely poor/blocky quality quality. Nothing really close to the quality of the input file.

I don't have a dedicated graphics card in my laptop - is this a problem for editing the 1 minute clips? It does have an i3 processor, 3gb RAM & a SSD, so it not that old.

Any help would be greatly appreciated in getting my rendered clips to a good quality.

Thank you!

Try rendering to MainConcept AVC with the Internet HD 1080p template. That should give you very good quality.
