Transcoding Primer Needed

I'm creating a Blue Ray disc for the first time. Where do I do to get step-by-step directions to do this? I need to know what kind of file am I rendering for the disc?

As always thanks so much to you guys...Johnny In Orlando

It's no different than making a DVD except that you render your video as either Sony AVC or MainConcept MPEG2 using the Blu-ray ... template that matches your project. Render your audio as Dolby Digital AC3 Pro just like for DVD. Then create a Blu-ray project in DVD Architect Pro and drop these files into it.

Hey John, as a side question, which version of DVDA and up burns Blu-Ray discs? I think I have to upgrade my version as I've never seen the option to burn Blu-Ray's in DVDA.

Blu-ray support was added in DVD Architect 4.0.

I don't use Architect; I use Encore. And my Sixteen hour render is not being accepted. A few seconds of the beginning plays then it goies black for the rest of the timeline. I think I used the Blu-Ray 1440 X 1080i preset. Also the .ac3 audio was also rejected by Encore. Please walk me through the steps.I'm late on delivery deadline.

I'm sorry but I don't use Encode and I have no idea why it rejected the files. You would need to ask that on the Adobe Encore forum. Maybe Encore is expecting 1920x1080 and doesn't like 1440x1080? I really don't know. Try rendering using a Sony AVC Blu-ray template instead but understand that those templates are designed to feed DVD Architect not Encore.
