can vegas chapter markers be passed up to YouTube?
on Oct 31, 2014 at 6:46:33 pm

Hi all,
I know you can create chapter markers in YouTube, but I have a video I already added numerous chapter markers to in Vegas and DVD Architect. Now I'm rendering an mp4 file for uploading to YouTube and wondering if there is anyway the chapter markers could be retained on YouTube without having to remake them all there.
Will the Quicktime player recognize chapter markers in the mp4 file?

Thanks,

I'm all but completely certain you can't do that on YouTube. At best to mimic this you may want to render each chapter of your video out to a separate video, upload them all, and put them in a playlist so a viewer can go from one video directly to the next. But that's if you want the chapters as separate videos in the first place.

Chapter markers on Youtube? That's new to me.
Best you follow Angelo's advice.

Afaik, there are 2 ways to emulate chapters on YouTube:
1) Annotations
2) YouTube links with parameter #t=second (eg. start playing from 53 second http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UH6e35eZfMI#t=53)
you can add such links in description...
