DVD looks terrible GoPro 3 1080 looks terrible on DVD. with the rendering settings

Go Pro3 footage at the 1080w - 1440 X 1080 at 30 frames. Using Vegas platnium 11.

when we used the go pro 2 the footage burned to dvd architect and produced a very nice dvd. now we use the Go Pro3 1440 X 1080 and the dvd's have all those squigly lines and huge loss of quality.

I know we can only keep quality for blue ray but i am sure we can get the dvd to look as good as the hero 2 footage.

So what settings should i use in project? Filed order upper or lower ? pixels ? frame rate ? or none progressive scan ? and then de interlace method - blend fields or interpolate or none?

do i put on a anti alias filter on the clip or at the settings????

please anything to help. use vegas 11 with the dvd archtect the latest version. have 2 super huge PC computers with huge I7 and tons of ram super speed.

these are 6 min skydive videos. I know there is a way to do it and not make them look terrible.

thank you

CHris

1440x1080 uses a Pixel Aspect Ratio of 1.3333. Make sure this is being set correctly in Vegas Pro. I would set your project to HDV because that's the resolution of HDV video. Then render to MPEG2 DVD Architect template and see if it helps. You are correct, you GoPro 3 footage should look just as good as the GoPro 2 footage did.

Where are you setting this? Are you sure that your footage is 1440x1080?

[Chris Roden] "Go Pro3 footage at the 1080w - 1440 X 1080 at 30 frames."
I did a little investigating that the GoPro3 doesn't shoot 1440x1080. It shoots 1920x1440 which is entirely different and uses a 4:3 aspect so forget about the 1.3333 which was based on incorrect information in your post.

So I have no idea what you are shooting but you seem to be confused as to what the GoPro3 can do and what footage you have. I suggest you check the properties of the footage in your event in Vegas Pro to see what Vegas thinks. (right-click properties, media tab)

Yes Sorry it is Shooting 1920 X 1080 sorry. Ok what about that then?

you said it shoots in 4:3 mode. What pixel can i use??????

i have done several things like burning at different settings.

when i used the 1280 X 720 on the go pro 2 then the dvd i guess the degrade the footage but it looked really good. This new footage has a lot of squiggly lines on edges. is that because the pixels do not match up?

Is there a way to do some math and cut the footage down so they do match up?

there must be a work around or a trick? i render best. The interpolate or blend fields or order or the pixels or setting it to some off footage to trick it into working??

sorry about my confusion. Thank you for your patience i am sorry and please continue to help me.

thank you

The Pixel Aspect Ratio of 1920 x 1080 is 1.0.
[Chris Roden] "you said it shoots in 4:3 mode. What pixel can i use??????"
No, I said that 1920x1440 mode is 4:3.

When you render your MPEG2 file for DVD in Vegas Pro, make sure that you change the render mode from Good to Best. Best is required because you are resizing your output.
