Sony Vegas not importing full Video files (mp4)

Having some problems with importing Video files into sony vegas. When i go to import or drag a video file it changes a 11 minute long video into a 3 minute. This seems to only happen with the mp4 files that i have recorded using Nvidia Shadowplay

as you can see for this one the video after being imported into sony vegas hasn't been changed

This one however gets cut

What is happening and how can we fix this?

Your issue is with the mp4 format captured using that Nvidia Shadowplay.
Try capturing it in another format apart from mp4 if it can.

Could you reccomend any other recording programs that I could use? I'm aiming for high quality but also a program that doesn't make me drop 100 fps when I start recording. I have tried fraps and obs both are not satisfying

I finally find two methods that can solve the problem.

Solution 1: Looking around Google results suggests I need a codec. Install the K Lite Codec Pack is a possible solution.

Note: I also found people blaming the codec saying K-Lite is that it blindly installs all kinds of components (not just codecs), many of which are not compatible with each other. And it does not uninstall cleanly. If don’t want to install a pile of codecs on your PC, try another approach.

Solution 2: There are more than one guys online recommend to convert MP4 to Sony Vegas Pro more edit-friendly video like MPEG-2.
