vegas 13 pro filter to minimize effect of stage fog?
on Jun 3, 2014 at 1:35:12 am

I have been recording stage productions. Recently people have been adding way too much fog so their fancy laser lights show up. Unfortunately the performer has this low contrast light gray cast to the image.

When I have the influence, I beg for little or no fog.

However, I have a precious recording albeit the fog.

Is there a filter or filter setting that may help "see" through the fog? I have played with Sony color curves with a slight improvement.

Got a SAMPLE? You're asking for a remedy when none of us have an opportunity to see the patient.

Now that is a great idea.

Here are four screen grabs showing
Before fog tight

Initial fog

dispersed fog wide

dispersed fog tight.

My approach? Hmmm....

So you want to reduce the "narrative" of the effect on the viewer of the FOG? Or are you asking to try and get the Eggs back out of the omelette?

Do you have the columns without Fog?

I have a cunning plan....

I guess I am asking for the egg to be removed.:)

People view the initial smoke and say ooh ah.

Once it dissipates like it picture 3 and 4, they don't think there is any fog anymore because their eyes have adjusted. But when they watch the video, they think my camera is malfunctioning.

I can pull other screen grabs, I am not sure what you mean by a shot of the pillars? Do you mean a tight shot of the pillars without smoke?
