resizing files

I have a number of mp4 files that are 2.7 gigs each. I want to upload them to a service that will not accept anything larger than 2 gigs. What's the best way to resize these files?

And if I put my original projects on the timeline to render future projects, is there a way to know what the finished file size will be?
Thanks
Roger

Use a bit-rate calculator. Most only work with calculating DVD size but this one seems to allow you to put in the desired file size and video length and will give you the bit rates to use for MP4/MOV files:

3ivx Bitrate Calculator

It should get you pretty close. Experiment and let us know. ;-)
